Advanced therapies are already changing the lives of people around the world, and have the potential to save the lives of millions more.

Advanced therapies are new medical products that use gene therapy, cell therapy, tissue engineering and immunotherapy. They are showing great promise in diseases that have no other treatment options including neurology, rare diseases and muscular dystrophy and are changing the face of cancer care. These therapies are the future of modern medicine.

Launching in January 2020, Advanced Therapies Week will be five days of events and community activities to raise public awareness and to support innovation in the advanced therapies industry. It’s an initiative proudly led by Phacilitate and supported by global partners and organisations.

Advanced Therapies Week is a global campaign designed to support three areas of importance:

  1. Public engagement
  2. Technology innovation
  3. Workforce development

The inspiration and ambition that underpins Advanced Therapies Week is that, for advanced therapies to fulfil its potential for humanity and become the standard of care for patients worldwide, a wider audience needs to be engaged beyond the brilliant scientists and innovators that have brought us this far. The wider public; patients and patient advocates; clinicians and healthcare professionals; young, talented people choosing their careers.
